According to a Delta Dental survey, the tooth fairy’s going rate for a single lost tooth dropped to $5.84 in 2024 compared to $6.23 in 2023.I don't know if the Tooth Fairy's going rate has any statical significance to broader economic trends, but let's hope this is a bellwether for inflationary trends...

We went to Greenville for our boys' year end basketball tournament. The team went 1-14 on the year....Let me write that again: one and fourteen. I asked the boys if they had fun this season.I was met with a resounding, "YES!!!!!!"I asked them what they enjoyed the most, and I was told:-Being with our friends.-The cupcake and pool party.-The team pizza party at Mellow Mushroom.-Staying in the hotel.-Playing at the big school.per·spec·tive/pərˈspektiv/noun1.the art of drawing solid objects on atwo-dimensionalsurface so as to give the right impression of their height, width, depth, and position in relation to each other when viewed from a particular point."a perspective drawing"2. a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view."most guidebook history is written from the editor's perspective"

I am struck by the Kelce boys love and support for each other...Although watching a shirtless Jason pound beers in Buffalo is amusing, Travis wiping away tears will stay with me.Here is Travis' raw reaction as his brother, Jason Kelce, emotionally announced his retirement from the NFL.What was going through Travis' mind, while watching his brother - who he idolizes - retire from the game which they mutually love?As Travis currently stands on top of the world, I suspect he could not help but think about his mortality and how precious time is.Jason, thanks for the memories and GO BIRDS!mortalitynounmor·tal·i·tymȯr-ˈta-lə-tē 1:the quality or state of beingmortalHer husband's death reminded her of her ownmortality.

Coach Wooden gave his team various handouts, and I recently read one titled "Ten Helpful Hints."All 10 were good points and specifically number 5 resonated with me: "Respect every opponent, but fear none." Coach Wooden would not mention an opposing team to his players during practice the week before a game. Often times, his team didn't know who they were playing! Why would Wooden do this? The approach contributed to a consistent energy level in practice that did not over or underestimate an upcoming opponent. Coach Wooded didn't want his team to prejudge an opponent by their record, reputation, or their appearance. Play your game...

Happy Leap Day! My oldest son was born in early March, during a leap year. My wife did NOT want him to be born on Leap Day... I think it would have been cool. Why do we have leap years?Leap years happen because of a “mismatch between the calendar year and Earth’s orbit,” according to NASA. While we think of one year as lasting 365 days, it actually takes a little longer — approximately 365 days and 6 hours — for the Earth to orbit the sun. That extra quarter of a day has to go somewhere, so around every four years, we add 24 hours — or four times six hours — to the calendar.

Q: "Should I reinvest dividends and capital gains?"A: In the past half-century, U.S. stocks turned $100 into $6,200 without dividends (ignoring costs and taxes), while with dividends, the same $100 investment would be worth roughly $25,000 today.

When asked what he would do with his signing bonus, legendary Phillies relief pitcher Tug McGraw said, "Ninety percent I'll spend on good times, women, and Irish Whiskey. The other ten percent I'll probably waste."Tug's son, Tim McGraw, sang "Live Like You Were Dying," which I find apropos.I'm getting excited for baseball season.

When building a team - and then assessing its performance - how do you marry the quantitative with the qualitative? I have seen sales organizations struggle with this over the years.Let's ask Coach Wooden, who - to no surprise - tracked points, rebounds, assists and all other "traditional," basketball statistics. But few things were "traditional," about Coach Wooden. He also statistically tracked occurrences of some unusual items. For example the number of times a player:1 Failed to acknowledge a scoring pass from teammate.2 Showed displeasure at a teammate.3 Showed displeasure at a coach.4 Showed displeasure at an official.5 Sulked or got his head down.6 Lost his temper or self-control in any way.7 Failed to hustle on either offense or defense.8 Appeared to be “co*cky”, “fancy” or “grandstanding”.9 Failed to see a teammate open for a pass.10 Failed to keep his hands up around the board.11 Forced a shot or dribble.12 Failed to keep his man busy on the weak side.13 Failed to get proper rebound balance after a shot.If it is about "getting the right people on the bus," then we have to go beyond quantitative.
