Creating a registry with Amazon and maybe also Target, list all the items that are 100% NEED and also anything you just loved having or that worked for your baby! FTM and not sure exactly what to add! Links would be even better :)

This is one of those things I never thought about, but ended up using ALL the time! So useful for diaper changes, going out, messy play/art, potty training. My son is coming up on 3 and we still use them all the time. https://www.amazon.com/Waterproof-Washable-Underpads-Protector-Incontinence/dp/B088TF5NXK/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?tag=wte-community-20

A wipeable changing pad (we used the Bumbo one), hatch sound machine, cool mist humidifier, travel changing pad to keep in diaper bag (changing tables are disgusting, or you can use it on the ground or in the back of your car), Frida snot sucker (also use saline spray with it), Munchkin dishwasher basket for bottle parts (we still use it for sippy cup parts), baby bjorn bouncy seat (or similar style— the fact that it folds flat and can easily be washed is a gamechanger).

@LReardon,

I second the nose Frida!! That would’ve been my one suggestion. We used it constantly when our son was a baby, I only use it now when he’s sick. It’s gross, but amazing!

For moms who plan to nurse, “By Brest Friend” nursing pillow. So much more convenient than the Bobby.

For baby (aside from the more obvious like a car seat), two way zipper onesies! You can zip from the bottom up for diaper changes, keeping baby’s top half covered.

The “FridaBaby Bitty Bundle of Joy” is also helpful for baby. If you prioritize one item from it, I’d choose the nose sucker. Overall, I’ve liked FridaBaby products.

Some purchases I wouldn’t make again…I wouldn’t stock up on one type of bottle or pacifier, because you never know what baby will actually use. I wouldn’t have bought as many clothes, because some went unworn. For myself, I looked at a lot of postpartum mom care items (i.e disposable underwear), but the ones provided by the hospital were the best. Take the whole bag home, if provided! Second best were FridaBaby, in my experience, but I really didn’t need to buy anything.

Not a necessity, but the Babybjörn bouncer was a splurge item that I used a lot.

Hope this helps!

Babylist let’s you put items from multiple websites all on one registry, which is nice as well.

@tbc02,

I agree with everything you said. ESPECIALLY not stocking up on a lot of one brand. I always say to buy a couple of multiple brands, including with diaper creams, shampoos, etc

Light up travel sound machine is probably what I used the most. We used it almost 24/7 at one point bc when I turned it on with the lights he would stop crying. Took it in the car with us too bc he always screamed in the car. That and then the Oogie bear nose picker. Never knew I would need that but it was a life saver!!! So helpful to get boogies out of their tiny little noses when your finger won’t fit!

get a snuggle me! It was a life saver when I needed to shower or when I needed a safe place to put baby down when on the couch/ bed and I was still nearby!

One thing I can tell you NOT to get is the Frida thermometer. At least read the reviews on it from Target…we spent so much time and money in the ER having unnecessary testing done on our newborn for fevers that she didn’t actually have. So that’s one thing I can confidently say do not buy!!

@wysiwyg4,

which thermometer just for reference? We have the rectal one and it has worked well but I think the ones I’ve read bad reviews on is the “3 in 1” ?

@wysiwyg4,

wondering about recommendations too. I have a 15 month old and all four of our thermometers read different things taken the same way. So frustrating

If you plan to nurse a boppy pillow is amazing. Velcro swaddles for us were a favorite. And then a good rocking chair preferable one that has a recline option. I had a glider for the first two years and cursed it every day I hated it.
